Let’s help them together.

Precisely in the 1980’s some of the young social activists being inspired by the noble dream of Jay PrakashJi and touched by the griefs of poor marginalized communities of Kalahandi who were mostly exploited by the gauntias/landlords, made a conscious choice to work for these underprivileged people. They have the clear mandate to work to combat distress sale & mortgage of land and migration. They had envisioned that each household should have own land to cultivate and earn sufficiently to lead dignified life. During the passage of time they wished to concentrate their efforts in a organized manner for better efficacy.

As a result of their assiduous efforts JANASAHAJYA came into existence as a registered non-profit making organization to work for the upliftment of the marginalized section who are at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder of the society. Since its inception it has been dealing with the issues related to Land alienation, Distress Migration, Sustainable Livelihood, Health, Water Sanitation & Hygiene, Education, Local Self Governance and Gender Discrimination, in the remote villages of Kalahandi District with the collaborative support from different support agencies including Government Departments, where the development indicators are hardly visualized.
